Raven Carmouche was born and raised in Houston, Texas, to doting parents, drummer legend the late Ronald "Scooby" Worthy, who was the original drummer for J. Paul Jr. and the Zydeco Nubreedz in the early 90s and 2000s, and her mother, Shirella Gamble, who paved her own musical lane as a background vocalist for award-winning gospel artist Yolanda Adams. After attending Grambling State University, Raven returned home, where she finds joy in being the wife of zydeco bassist Raynoard Carmouche and the mother of Ayden Carmouche and Kylie Carmouche. Being born and rooted in music allowed Raven to develop her own passion within the artistry, which was cultivated through singing all over Houston in church choirs and church musicals. At the age of 16, Raven was selected to be a part of The Stellar Award youth choir in 2007, followed by recording her first demo and performing throughout Texas with a teenage girl group called Bi-Chance, opening up concerts for artists such as "Lil Romeo" and Nappy Roots, just to name a few. In 2022, everything came full circle. Raven stepped out on faith to create a management company called Women in Music Management. Marcus Ardoin and Da Zydeco Legendz, Porter Williams and the Zydeco Hustlers, and Donna Angelle and the Zydeco Posse were her first bands under her wing. Raven's goal is to make sure that artists within her culture are showcased in the best light, on and off stage. Within the same year, Raven created a platform called Keeping It Zydeco Podcast, which serves to interview artists for their music and shared stories. Subsequently, Raven hosted her first live podcast in 2022, where she had the honor of interviewing Radio Hall of Famer Dr. Lawrence Gregory Jones, also known as "Uncle Funky Larry Jones," a radio host and personality for Majic 102.1. She has also interviewed some of your favorite zydeco artists, such as J. Paul Jr. and the Zydeco Nubreedz, Sean Ardoin, Leon Chavis, and so many more. Raven is also the proud media sponsor for The Crosby Zydeco Festival, founded by Dr. Troy Barrett, and event coordinator for Emancipation Food Truck Park, booking the hottest artists and some of the best food vendors that Houston has to offer. In August 2023, Raven's management company hosted a Backpack Giveaway in the heart of the 5th Ward community, giving over 80 signed autograph backpacks by Houston native Zydeco artist J. Paul Jr. Each backpack was filled with school supplies to aid each registered recipient in starting the school year right. In addition to Raven’s philanthropic endeavors, she collaborated with Acynthia Villery, David Cortez, and the proud owners of Emancipation Food Truck Park to host a Toy Drive giving away, where one hundred plus toys were gifted to 100 registered children within the community. Raven was grateful to wrap up 2023 as the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Recipient, Zydeco Blues Trail Riding (ZBT) Entrepreneur of the Year, and recognized by the Sam Mac Entertainment Company as Humanitarian of the Year. Also, she will be receiving her honorary doctorate from Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University in December 15th .
